Retaining Wall Repair on Jalan Kotabumi Ujung to Finish Soon

Repair work on collapsed channel's retaining wall on Jalan Kotabumi Ujung RW 03, Kebon Melati Urban Village, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta that has been carried out from Tuesday (4/12) is targeted to finish on Saturday (4/16).

The progress of the repair work has reached 75 percent

Tanah Abang Water Resources (SDA) Unit Head Eli Menawan Sari mentioned that the 250-meters long retaining wall with a height of 40 centimeters and a width of 10 centimeters collapsed along 8 meters. The debris clogged the water flow thus it was feared that it could trigger inundation.

"The progress of the repair work has reached 75 percent. We are targeting it to finish on April 16," she conveyed, Thursday (4/14).

SDA Speeds Up Channel Dredging on Jalan Bekasi Raya

In addition to repairing the collapsed retaining wall, her side also made concrete drain covers manually. She targeted to finish the covers on April 22.

"We deploy 6 personnel to repair the retaining wall and build the drain covers," she explained.

Agus (52), a resident of RT 01/03 Kebon Melati appreciated the quick work of SDA personnel in repairing the retaining wall.

"It has not been a week, but we can already see the result. After it is repaired, we hope the channel can function normally again," he stated.
